In his role as chief financial officer for Decisive Technologies and BriteSky Technologies, Eric sets the tone and direction for financial operations, manages financial reporting processes, and ensures financial performance aligns with the business objectives of both organizations.
Eric began his career with Deloitte in Toronto before moving to Ottawa where he has worked with technology companies for more than 20 years. He is a chartered professional accountant (CPA, CA) and holds Masters of Accounting and Bachelor of Mathematics degrees from the University of Waterloo.
Eric has extensive experience providing financial guidance and leadership to growing high tech companies. Recently, he was vice president, finance at Halogen Software where he oversaw the initial public offering of the company on the Toronto Stock Exchange and its subsequent sale to Saba Software. He then helped drive Saba’s rapid growth through acquisition and improved profitability leading to its eventual sale in 2020.
Before Halogen and Saba, Eric was vice president, finance at March Networks where he presided over the sale of the company in 2011. His leadership position at March Networks was preceded with his role as vice president, finance and administration at Xmark Corporation where he led the team responsible for all aspects of finance, information technology, administration, and human resources, and where he played a leadership role in the sale of the company in 2008.
As an experienced finance executive, Eric has served as a volunteer on various boards, including the Roberts/Smart Centre and The Great Canadian Theater Company, and he was part of the team responsible for leading the building of a new home for the Irving Greenberg Theatre Centre in Ottawa. Eric was recognized for his business and volunteer leadership in 2008 when he was a recipient of the Ottawa Forty under 40 award.
